The position involves ensuring that MTI's maintenance operation functions effectively and efficiently. This includes maintaining and repairing all equipment in a safe and economical manner, adhering to state, federal, and local regulations, meeting customer requirements, maximizing the utilization of mechanics and equipment, and ensuring that employees follow company policies and procedures.

  • Ensure all equipment is maintained by Martin policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all write-ups are repaired daily.
  • Ensure preventive maintenance is performed daily.
  • Coordinate with terminal supervisor, shop foreman, and the safety department.
  • Train and cross-train in all areas of shop.
  • Complete duties as assigned by the terminal supervisor and/or the shop foreman.
  • Maintain a clean and safe workplace.
  • Demonstrate professional attitudes and conduct.
  • Perform assigned duties in a professional and timely manner.
  • Set a positive example for employees.
  • Follow company policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Report all unsafe conditions and accidents.
  • Keep the Terminal Manager and shop foreman updated on current issues.
  • Follow instructions as set forth by the shop foreman and terminal manager.
  • Strive to make MTI 'The Best in the Business'.
  • High School Diploma or equivalency.
  • Three years' work experience as a mechanic.
  • Ability to diagnose mechanical problems and make repairs.
  • Knowledge of standard materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Skill in the use and care of tools.
