About the position
The position is responsible for repairs and required preventive maintenance of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, trucks, and/or other heavy equipment. The individual will interpret work orders and technical manuals, repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems, and test repaired equipment for proper performance to ensure the work meets manufacturer's specifications and legislated regulations. Regular attendance is required. The role also involves inspecting, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and performing maintenance on equipment as required by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), company, and any other Federal, State, or Local regulations. Responsibilities
- Responsible for repairs and required preventive maintenance of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, trucks and/or other heavy equipment
- Interpret work orders and technical manuals
- Repair or replace defective parts, components or systems
- Test repaired equipment for proper performance and ensure the work meets manufacturer's specifications and legislated regulations
- Inspect, troubleshoot, diagnose and perform maintenance on equipment required by FMCSA, company and any other Federal, State or Local regulations
- Perform any and all other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Must have a CDL Class B or higher
- Must have acceptable MVR
- Must have 3-5 years experience in diesel engines and hydraulic systems
- Must be willing to travel
- Must have own tools
- Should have specific knowledge of heavy truck repairs in a commercial environment, including diesel engine systems diagnostics
