Mechanic Trainee
About The Position
Central Transport is an industry-leading Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) transportation carrier, recognized as one of the nation’s largest with significant growth. The company operates an ever-growing network of terminals across the United States, Canada, and Mexico, providing safe and efficient service. Central Transport is expanding its team and is seeking talented individuals, specifically quality mechanics, to help maintain its extensive fleet, which includes over 2,200 tractors, 8,500 trailers, and 1,700 forklifts. This is an entry-level position designed for individuals looking to start their career and offers the potential to learn a skilled trade.
Requirements
- Work is considered heavy physical work requiring exertion of 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds of force frequently and up to 20 pounds of force consistently to move objects.
- Must possess strength, stamina and mobility to perform heavy physical work.
- Must be able to: walk, lift, reach, stoop, stand, grasp, balance, climb, kneel and crouch for extended periods of time
Nice To Haves
- Prior mechanic experience in the auto industry is a plus!
Responsibilities
- Removing decals from trailers to be repaired
- Minor body work on trailers
