About The Position

This position is responsible for ensuring the safe working condition of all Roberts’ vehicles by performing minimal supervised repairs and maintenance of all company vehicles. Essential Job Functions Incumbent may perform any or all of the following: Assist 1 st class mechanics with repairs Trains (supervises) underclass technician (i.e., mechanic helper) Performs diagnosis and corrective action of reported mechanical discrepancies within ability Performs routine repairs and preventative maintenance Generates written work orders on a daily basis to account for task(s) accomplishment(s) work performed Performs general house-keeping of shop area Performs other related duties as assigned or requested The above information on this description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by an employee in this classification. Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Must have a minimum of two (2) years work related experience as a mechanic helper; and or training (e.g. technical / trade school preferred); or equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Able to calculate basic math
  • Able to speak, read, write English
  • Minimum two (2) ASE certificates (e.g. Brakes, Suspension & Steering, Engines, Power-train (drive-line), Air Conditioning, Transmission, Engine Diagnosis, etc.) or Hawaii State Mechanic License Preferred
  • Must have minimum Type 3 License with a current valid Hawaii Driver History Record.
  • Must own basic hand-tools (e.g. sockets, wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, hammer, etc.)
  • Must be able to work flexible days / hours – weekends, nights, holiday
  • Operational knowledge of basic hand tools required
  • Operational knowledge of basic shop equipment (e.g. vise, press, floor jacks, etc.) required
