About The Position

Tessera is seeking a Mechanic, Power Generation Equipment responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical power generation systems and equipment. This position ensures that generators, power distribution systems, and related mechanical and electrical components operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory and manufacturer standards. The mechanic plays a key role in supporting continuous, reliable power to facilities and operations. Typical duties include but are not limited to:

Requirements

  • Associates Degree required
  • 3-5 years of experience in power plant technology
  • Strong understanding of internal combustion engines, electrical systems, and various power generation components.
  • Ability to identify and resolve complex problems with power generation equipment.
  • A valid state driver’s license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera’s insurance.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on power generation equipment to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Diagnose mechanical failures and identify the necessary repairs or replacements required to maintain the proper functionality of equipment.
  • Perform repairs on generators, engines, and related systems, including electrical and control components.
  • Collaborate with engineers and other technicians to troubleshoot complex issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities, and update maintenance management systems as required.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies while performing job duties.
  • Assist with the installation of new equipment and systems, ensuring proper setup and calibration.
