Job Title : Mechanic, Oiler Reporting To: Supervisor, Facility Maintenance Work Schedule: Onsite – Torrance, CA Moog Military Aircraft Group has an immediate opening for a Mechanic Oiler on 2nd shift to join them. You will report to the Facility Maintenance Supervisor and will have an onsite work schedule in Torrance, CA. Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED preferred. Otherwise, demonstrated ability to understand and apply all verbal, written and computer work instructions or training in English, and demonstrated ability to perform simple addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
  • Minimum 6 months warehouse experience
  • Forklift experience

Nice To Haves

  • Lubricate experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Lubricate machines and equipment following a prepared schedule and sequence using types of lubricants as specified in machine manuals.
  • Change coolants, soluble oils, filters, and cleaning compounds in machines from a schedule or as required by various supervisors. Also clean out coolant tanks as required.
  • Look for any equipment deficiencies such as broken distribution lines, broken or invisible sight gauges, low oil and coolant levels damage to or loss of fittings, or any unusual noise or sound of damage to machines and report such to his/her supervisor.
  • Operate forklift and truck while moving and storing solvents, oils, coolants, and lubricants between outside storage areas and inside distribution points.
  • Operate several different types of machine tools in order to lubricate them properly; i.e., move table back and forth, wheel head in and out, etc.
  • Recognize machine faults and malfunctions and report these to Machine Repair.
  • Maintain an adequate inventory of coolants, solvents, oils, and lubricants. Informing Tool Crib and Machine Repair supervisor when minimum re-order quantities have been reached.
  • Perform cleaning, moving, aligning, simple rebuilding or refinishing machines or equipment as may be necessary.
  • Bleed air lines or assist in bending tubes etc., for air installations.
