About The Position
Certain roles at Tyson require background checks. Job Details: Hours of work: 6 am to 2 pm Monday thru Friday. Holiday work is required and some weekend work. This position will perform any other duties assigned by Live Haul Manager. All Tyson policies and procedures must be followed to include Animal Welfare and Bio-Security guidelines. Pay: $26.50/hour. Attendance Incentive offered. Task: This position will be at the Carthage, MS location and will report to the Live Haul Manager. This position will be working Monday through Friday 6 am to 2 pm (schedule subject to change) Holiday and Weekend work required. This position will perform diagnostic, preventive and repair maintenance on company heavy and light fleet vehicles and other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Applicant must reside within a 50-mile radius of the facility.
- This position will work Monday thru Friday 6 am - 3pm (subject to change), must be flexible.
- Must show 4-years mechanic experience on application.
- Must have a valid Mississippi driver’s license with no more than two moving violations in the last two years to exclude D.U.I. (Driving Under the influence) conviction on his/her Motor Vehicle Record.
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a company license.
- Must possess basic computer skills.
- Must possess advanced wiring skills for lights and harnesses on vehicles.
- Must possess advanced welding skills.
- Must be able to work in cold, hot and/or wet conditions.
- All Tyson policies and procedures must be followed to include Animal Welfare and Bio-Security guidelines.
- The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Responsibilities
- Perform any other duties assigned by Live Haul Manager
- Perform diagnostic, preventive and repair maintenance on company heavy and light fleet vehicles and other duties as assigned
- Take road service calls as needed
- Service vehicles. (PM1, PM2)
- Perform PM6 – DOT inspections
- Perform minor loader repairs
- Perform minor motor, transmission, and rear end repairs
- Perform major trailer repairs
