About The Position

The Mechanical Technician is responsible for preventative maintenance and repair of heavy equipment in the yard and on well sites. Must have own tools and be willing to leave them on-site. Hours: Local workers: Monday to Saturday, 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM Out-of-area workers: 2 weeks on / 1 week off rotation. Man camp accommodations provided.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Basic set of mechanic tools
  • Must be 21+ years or older
  • Two (2) years of experience as diesel mechanic; tractor and trailer experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of diagnostics and repair of pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • Experience installing, inspecting, troubleshooting and maintaining industrial equipment preferred
  • Strong work ethic with ability to work under stressful conditions at times
  • Must be able to work rotational schedule and long hours (day or night), outside with exposure to inclement weather
  • Must have valid driver's license and be insurable to drive company vehicle
  • Must be able to use smart phone and software programs
  • Must be a self-starter who works well with personnel, management, public and customers
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to read, write and speak English
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, reach and climb
  • Must be able to carry, push and pull 80 pounds or more

Nice To Haves

  • tractor and trailer experience preferred
  • Experience installing, inspecting, troubleshooting and maintaining industrial equipment preferred

Responsibilities

  • Slitting and cutting heavy duty conveyor belt and related products
  • Cut, Splice, Lace, Vulcanize, Cold bond various rubber products
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance on pumps, trailers and other equipment
  • Perform repair on equipment including basic electrical, mechanical and minor tune-ups
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair various pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • Perform diagnostic tasks to properly source parts and accurately repair related equipment
  • Operate mechanical equipment, hand tools, forklifts and picking lifts
  • Ensure proper fluid levels, change air filters, update service records and report repair requirements
  • Repair and replace hoses and various parts as needed
  • Maintain records related to P/M, oil inventory (usage), waste oil and fuel consumption
  • Responsible for advising field operations of any equipment misuse
  • Maintain appearance and operation of Company’s service truck.
  • Complete all paperwork as necessary, including but not limited to work orders, parts requests, timecards, logs, pre-trip/post-trip inspections, etc.
  • Review vehicle inspection reports and ensure all repairs will be made
  • Perform all required DOT services and inspections; Keep up-to-date truck files and ensure that the Company is following all regulations
  • Ensure that trucks are always in safe operating condition
  • Other duties as assigned
