About The Position

The Maintenance Mechanic maintains equipment according to the Preventive Maintenance program, diagnoses and repairs mechanical problems and performs emergency and proactive repairs of buildings and grounds, production equipment and machinery while minimizing down time. This is a 2nd shift position, Monday-Friday, 3:30-2:00am.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Journeyman's card or 2 year degree in skilled trade preferred
  • Two (2) or more years industrial, mechanical maintenance experience, preferably in an automotive, machining or manufacturing environment
  • Certified/Licensed Industrial Maintenance Mechanic
  • Basic computer skills
  • OSHA 10 hours certified
  • Mechanic and technical aptitude
  • Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment
  • Ability to read and understand hydraulic and pneumatic schematics
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints
  • General machine rebuild skills required
  • Perform predictive and preventative maintenance

Responsibilities

  • Maintain equipment according to Preventative Maintenance program
  • Repair emergency/reactive repairs of production equipment and machinery minimizing downtime
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical problems, replace or repair parts to mechanical, electric, hydraulic, and pneumatic components
  • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and follow prescribed safety procedures
  • Perform inspection of completed maintenance and document results
  • Complete and maintain paperwork for maintenance performed
  • Assist in other work areas as needed and directed by the department supervisor
  • Operate Forklifts, overhead cranes, and other equipment as necessary
  • Comply with all plant safety and environmental regulations and maintain a safe, organized, and clean work environment
  • Read and follow QWI and other work instructions necessary to properly assemble product
  • Install and repair facility equipment
  • Train other employees
