About The Position

Under general supervision, the position involves repairing and rebuilding cement pumping equipment. The role requires analyzing, diagnosing, and troubleshooting equipment for repair, determining the most cost-effective methods of repair, and making recommendations to the Production Manager or Customer. The technician will also be responsible for preparing trucks for sub-frame assembly, testing assembled parts, and ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety policies.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent, required.
• Formal training beyond high school (certification or associate's degree in auto repair), preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of mechanical experience.
• Previous experience with heavy mechanical equipment, preferred.
• Familiarity with and understanding of hydraulic, electrical, gas, and diesel systems.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read blueprints, hydraulic and electrical schematics.
• Familiarity with computers to look up work instructions, track labor, and other tasks as needed.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, diagnose, and troubleshoot equipment for repair.
• Determine the most cost-effective method of repair.
• Make recommendations for repair to Production Manager or Customer.
• Determine and gather best parts for repair.
• Connect hydraulic lines and fill with oil in preparation for required testing.
• Prepare trucks for sub-frame assembly by disassembling, measuring, repositioning parts, installing parts, and reassembling the unit by following procedures.
• Test the assembled parts or products to ensure they are functioning properly and are of good quality.
• Comply with workplace health and safety policies, safe work practices, and procedures.
• Maintain tools and the work space in good condition.
• May perform reasonably similar or related duties as assigned.
