About The Position

Overview: Primarily working on the road this role is expected to maintain, repair and overhaul farm equipment and vehicles such as, tractors, trucks, forklifts, brush shredders, spray equipment, and other mechanically, electrically or motor driven equipment on farms and in farm shops. Examines equipment for defects and dismantles defective equipment using hand tools. Repairs or replaces defective units using hand and power tools. Here's what you'll do: Perform all tasks in a safe manner. Maintains shop and equipment in good safe efficient conditions, with special care to critical equipment. Ensures that all farm machinery is serviced and maintained on a routine schedule and kept in good operational order. Inspects, tests, adjusts, and repairs as needed, all equipment and rolling stock on a regular basis, as required by management. Maintains service and repair records. Keeps the shop Supervisor informed of equipment conditions, upcoming maintenance schedules, and other pertinent equipment information. Maintaining and servicing company vehicles Tool accountability 75% + of the work time will be performed in road service All other duties as assigned by the supervisor Pay Range $17.39 - $20.46 P/H

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of maintenance experience in repairing farm equipment.
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Strong equipment/process troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Must have experience in working on all types of engines.
  • Knowledge of basic math.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds, bending or stooping.
  • Ability to work with little or no supervision
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, and climb or balance.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus
