About The Position

The Mechanic maintains, repairs, and monitors equipment operation and utility services to the Hospital complex. This role requires a valid Ohio driver’s license and proof of auto insurance as per hospital policy. The Mechanic must pass a motor vehicle background inspection, insurance eligibility, driving qualifications, and training set forth by Nationwide Children’s Hospital, and must maintain qualification of insurance guidelines.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
• Two years of related experience in one or more skilled crafts, required.
• Valid Ohio driver’s license and proof of auto insurance as required by hospital policy.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to learn and adjust the Building Automation system.

Responsibilities

• Inspects and diagnoses mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic malfunctions in equipment.
• Repairs and maintains equipment by replacing or repairing defective parts, adjusting functional parts, and lubricating equipment.
• Tests equipment performance and ensures that it meets manufacturer specifications.
• Records maintenance and repair work performed on equipment.
• Operates equipment to detect equipment malfunctions and to verify that repairs have been completed satisfactorily.
• Cleans and maintains work area and tools.
