The Mechanic Heavy Equipment (Traveling) position is a full-time role focused on maintaining and repairing critical machinery across various locations to ensure operational efficiency and safety by minimizing equipment downtime. This position requires extensive travel to job sites within the designated seniority region and states. Training is company-paid, including on-the-job and classroom instruction, which will involve travel to the BNSF Training Center. Daily work is performed in a safety-sensitive environment, often in diverse and extreme weather conditions, on uneven surfaces, and around loud noises, fumes, and heavy machinery. BNSF prioritizes safety, requiring employees to engage in daily safety conversations and adhere to all safety regulations, rules, and policies, including wearing safety equipment and responding to emergencies. There is a 60-day probationary period, and relocation assistance is not currently available.
