About The Position

StandardAero Houston is a premier business aviation MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) facility specializing in the service of mid-sized corporate jets. We support an extensive range of aircraft models, including renowned brands such as Falcon, Hawker, Learjet, and Embraer. In addition to comprehensive airframe services, the facility features a state-of-the-art engine shop and test cell, performing overhauls on TFE731 and CFE738 engines. With a commitment to quality and customer satisfaction, StandardAero Houston is dedicated to keeping business aviation flying safely and efficiently. This Aircraft Mechanic will specialize on the Airframe side of our Business Aviation operations in Houston. At this MRO facility, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and major inspections on corporate aircraft. Troubleshooting, repair, and modification of aircraft components is accomplished by this position. In addition, engine removal and reinstallation, operational checks, leak checks, and engine runs are all within the responsibility of the A&P Mechanic.

Requirements

  • Must have current or previous experience working in a Business Aviation MRO Environment.
  • Applicants must be able to obtain the A&P license within 6 months of hire.
  • Technical School training in an Aviation Maintenance Program.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, walk, bend, stretch, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Remove and reinstall engines on turbofan and turboprop aircraft.
  • Perform engine runs and operational checks to ensure airworthiness prior to departure.
  • Inspect aircraft in accordance with OEM Light or Heavy Maintenance manuals.
  • Assess removed components for serviceability and document any discrepancies (squawks), then reinstall and test after inspection.
  • Troubleshoot and repair all airframe systems (e.g., hydraulics, landing gear), including performing fuel tank sealing when necessary.
  • Accurately document all completed work (sign-offs) in a clear and concise manner.
  • Accomplish Service Bulletins, Repair Letters, and Airworthiness Directives as required.
  • Read and interpret maintenance manuals, blueprints, technical manuals, and schematic diagrams when needed.
  • Analyze mechanical issues, determine causes, and identify the best repair methods.
  • Test and repair/adjust engines, engine controls, propellers, landing gear, hydraulic systems, and flight controls.
  • Repair and inspect fuel, oil, oxygen, heating, cooling, and pressurization systems.
