About The Position

Mechanic B Transdev in EVERETT, WA is hiring a Mechanic (B) must be an experienced fleet technician to diagnose and repair vehicles and equipment, with daily safety inspections, under general supervision. We are seeking friendly, customer service-oriented people who are dedicated to safety. Non-CBA Position: Competitive compensation package of minimum $29.50 – $30.00/hr Benefits include: Vacation: minimum of two (2) weeks Sick days: WPSL (5 days) Holidays: 12 days; 8 standard and 4 floating Other standard benefits: 401(k) retirement plan, medical, dental and vision, life insurance, short-term disability, voluntary long-term disability. Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years old with a high school diploma, GED or equivalent
  • Maintenance experience with all types of heavy duty transit equipment
  • For Mechanic B level: 3-4 years experience
  • Commercial Driving License with passenger and airbrake endorsements (We offer development opportunities for obtaining your license)
  • Appropriate Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification preferred
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to read, interpret safety documents, blue prints, schematics and other mechanical diagrams.
  • Ability to pass a DOT physical examination, including a background and a drug test
  • Be eligible to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship now or in the future (if based in the U.S.).
  • Successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Nice To Haves

  • Appropriate Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Performs transit vehicle maintenance that are compliant with Transdev standards
  • Inspects, diagnoses, services and/or repairs all assigned transit vehicles and related mechanical equipment
  • Conducts diagnostic tests to identify issues and determine necessary repairs.
  • Ensures accurate upgrades and/or modifications on coach systems, road calls, and on-the-road repairs as needed
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and optimize performance
  • Collaborate with team member to ensure efficient and accurate repairs and shop safety.
  • Complete preventative maintenance (PMs), safety inspections and annual maintenance inspections
  • Ability to make repairs that include but not limited to: Suspension, Tires, Brakes, Exhaust and Electrical.
  • Performed advanced troubleshooting and repair tasks on engines, including replacing engines, transmissions and differentials.
  • Understanding air conditioning R134a and able to repair.
  • Other duties as required
