About The Position

POSITION SUMMARY: Position is responsible for installing equipment into Les Schwab (LS) Service Trucks. Refurbish and/or repair previously installed equipment as needed to existing LS Service Trucks through the use of troubleshooting and diagnostic equipment, under the direct supervision of more senior mechanics. Day Shift: Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:30pm

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
  • A minimum of 1 year experience working with vehicles (mechanical, custom installations, remodels, light automotive repair)
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills to include low voltage electrical circuits, hydraulics, and pneumatic
  • Frequently required to lift, move, or transport equipment weighing greater than 20 lbs., occasionally up to 50 lbs without aid.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to perform work while in a variety of positions, including: standing, bending, crawling, squatting, kneeling, laying on back and working overhead.
  • Must be able to grasp, finger, feel, talk and hear.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.

Nice To Haves

  • Automotive/mechanical trade or vocational certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Install fabricated and purchased equipment onto LS Service Trucks, with direct to moderate supervision. Including, but not limited to: Beds Air compressors Tool boxes Hose reels Air tanks Lighting Cranes
  • Repair vehicle equipment for LS Stores by inspecting and testing vehicles: Repair mechanical and electrical systems malfunctions on installed vehicle equipment Replace parts and components as required
  • Repair any mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, or other equipment breakdown/failure
