About The Position

The basic objective of this position is to maintain and complete repairs of orchard equipment, and keep equipment running at optimal levels at all times.

Requirements

• related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Must have a strong mechanical, electrical, and background in orchard equipment such as:
• Pickups – Small engines
• Truck Repair
• Tractors Sprayers
• Wind Machines
• 4-Wheelers
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of costumers or employees of the organization.
• Must be bilingual (English and Spanish).
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Valid Driver’s License
• Regularly required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear.
• Regularly required to stand; sit; reach with hands and arms and climb or balance.
• Regularly required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell.
• Must regularly lift or move up to 25 pounds; frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; occasionally move up to 100 pounds.
• Specific vision requirements for the position include close vision; distance vision; color vision; peripheral vision; depth perception; ability to adjust focus.
• Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions; moving mechanical parts.
• Frequently exposed to extreme heat and extreme cold; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals.
• Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Responsibilities

• Working in the field orchards and from central shop doing various mechanical jobs.
• Maintain clean and safe work area.
• Log all maintenance performed.
• Other duties may be assigned
