About The Position

Work on and repair related equipment associated with shop area and other equipment in and around yard area. This is the entry level class in the Fleet Mechanic series with the expected performance of the more routine tasks and duties assigned. May have only limited or non directly related work experience. Employees work under immediate supervision while learning job tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Performs repairs and maintenance on Ready Mix Trucks, front-end loader, roll off and other site vehicles
  • Inspect, adjust and replace necessary units and related parts including valves, hoses, belts and alternators
  • Repair cooling, fuel electrical, and exhaust systems, tune engines using standard testing equipment
  • Diagnose, repair and maintain hydraulic systems
  • Perform preventive maintenance work on vehicles, including lubrication and oil changes
  • Fabricate, weld, repair, pick up deliver parts
