About The Position

The Colorado State University Mechanical Engineering Department seeks an Assistant Adjunct Professor to teach MECH 553. This role involves taking full responsibility for teaching MECH 553, Industrial Engines, every even Fall semester. The professor will communicate with and grade students in MECH 553 in a timely, equitable, and professional manner, and abide by all University faculty requirements and responsibilities in the teaching and administration of MECH 553. The position includes supervision of one graduate-level teaching assistant.

Requirements

  • PhD in Mechanical Engineering
  • Previous research, teaching, and / or industrial experience related to large industrial engines
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US by the proposed start date
  • Background check

Nice To Haves

  • BS and MS in Mechanical Engineering
  • > 4 years research experience on large engines
  • Two years of teaching or tutoring experience
  • Experience teaching the specific or similar course
  • Evidence of teaching effectiveness
  • Effective management, communication, mentoring, and organizational skills
