About The Position

Maintains stock levels within the Meat Department’s sales floor by replenishing products as needed. Provides exceptional service to all guests in the Meat Department and on the sales floor.

Requirements

• Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with customers and all personnel
• Good oral and written communication skills and the ability to handle a diverse crew in a highly stressful environment
• Complete understanding of all safety requirements and company safety policies
• Must possess the ability to apply on-the-job safety training to recognize and react to possible safety hazards on store premises.
• Also requires proper training and knowledge of the following equipment/procedures: slicers, proper lifting techniques, trash compactor, baler

Responsibilities

• Assist guests with locating items on or off the sales floor
• Receives, prepares and fulfills guest orders and other special requests
• Provides excellent guest services by professionally answering department telephone or in on the sales floor
• Wraps meat and seafood in appropriate packaging
• Ensures accurate pricing on items within displays and sales floor- fills, rotates and removes product according to date
• Supports teammates and positively contributes to the culture of the Meat Department
• Addresses guest concerns and resolves issues by practicing our guest service philosophy
• Ensures high standard quality control by inspecting, rotating, maintaining proper temperatures and replenishing all meat products on display
• Maintains proper inventory levels in Meat Department (containers, wraps, tags, etc.)
• Maintains food safety logs and leads by example through following proper procedures
• Cleans all areas of the department, which could include: Emptying garbage Washing dishes Cleaning and sanitizing equipment and surfaces, such as saws, grinders, mixers, racks, tables, counter tops, service cases, drains, etc. Sweeping and mopping the floor Cleaning the coolers and holding areas
• Ensures all quality standards are being met, including quantity expectations at 100% by 10 am and 5 pm
• Other duties as assigned
