About The Position

Job duties include general work in slaughtering, meat packing, performing precision functions involving the preparation of meat. Work may include specialized tasks such as harvesting animals in a safe and humane environment. Employee will be responsible to trim, skin, sort edible meat parts, and ensure that they are properly sorted.

Requirements

  • High diploma or GED required
  • Must maintain a professional attitude and appearance that positively represents the Nation
  • Ability to work flexible hours
  • Must be able to pass drug/alcohol testing

Nice To Haves

  • Evidence of practical experience in slaughter plant operations
  • Preferred knowledge of HACCP and SSOP standards and guidelines
  • Knowledge of requirements with federal food safety
  • Evidence of strong interpersonal and leadership skills and evidence of ability to motivate employees and communicate effectively with employees, supervisors, regulators, and the general public
  • Evidence of strong time-management, the meeting of production deadlines and shipping dates
  • Evidence of strong problem-solving skills, showing prompt assessment of situations and decisive action in solving complex problems (preferably in meat-cutting and/or packaging of meat products)
