About The Position

The position involves establishing and maintaining a safe and clean environment that encourages customer return. The individual will achieve all goals and monitor and control established quality assurance standards. The role includes directing and supervising all functions, duties, and day-to-day activities of the Meat/Seafood department while encouraging team members to deliver excellent customer service. Requirements

  • Minimum effective communication and reading skills.
  • Knowledge of basic math.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations.
  • Current food handlers permit once employed.
  • Adequate knife handling skills and knife speed.
  • Must be 18 years old.

Nice To Haves

  • High school education or equivalent preferred.
  • Management experience preferred.
  • Meat/Seafood experience.
  • Second language.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment.
  • Achieve all goals and monitor quality assurance standards.
  • Direct and supervise all functions and day-to-day activities of the Meat/Seafood department.
  • Encourage team members to deliver excellent customer service.
  • Communicate company, department, and job-specific information to team members.
  • Collaborate with others to promote teamwork.
  • Establish performance goals for the department and empower team members.
  • Develop adequate scheduling.
  • Train and develop team members on job performance.
  • Participate in the performance review process.
  • Adhere to all local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines.
  • Create a welcoming environment for customers.
  • Gain and maintain knowledge of products to assist customers.
  • Cut meats to customer requests and inform them of specials.
  • Prepare foods according to temperature logs.
  • Develop and implement a department business plan.
  • Monitor and control expenses and assist in preparing budgets.
  • Maintain awareness of inventory and stocking conditions.
  • Schedule price changes and update shelf tags.
  • Plan, organize, and supervise the inventory process.
  • Reinforce safety programs and identify unsafe conditions.
  • Practice preventive maintenance on equipment.
