About The Position

Mars Petcare- Meat Prep Operator- 3rd Shift- Columbus, OH Pay: $26.87/hour and $1.50 Shift Premium This site manufactures petfood: Pedigree, Cesar, Nutro, Iams & Whiskas Shift Schedule: Shift: 3rd Shift Schedule: 12 hour shift; 2-2-3 pattern Hours: 7:00pm-7:30am (Flexible pending business needs) Description of Role: The Meat Prep Operator is responsible for supplying frozen meat to the factory using a forklift, ensuring timely delivery in accordance with production requirements and safety protocols.

Requirements

High School diploma or GED
Mechanical aptitude
Proficient in computer software’s including MS Office and Outlook
Can perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
Frequent lifting/carrying (10-50 lbs) and pushing/pulling (50-300 lbs)
Frequent bending, stooping, twisting, handling, and gripping.
Ability to work at elevated heights, climb stairs, lean over equipment, and operate in confined spaces.
Ability to stand and work on feet for extended periods, with shifts lasting 12 hours
Capable of working in hot, cold and wet conditions
Proficient in understanding, communicating, reading, and writing in English.

Nice To Haves

Forklift experience
1+ years of manufacturing experience
RF Scanner/Blue Yonder/JDA experience

Responsibilities

Operate and change equipment including the Haarslev, meat screws, grinders, grinder plates and bunkers.
Operate and drive forklifts to transfer meat
Process meat according to recipe requirements
Assist with system start-up and shutdown activities.
Perform cleaning, inspection, and lubrication (CIL) tasks and document any abnormalities while complying with quality and food safety standards
Complete additional tasks and ad hoc requests assigned.
