The position involves general product preparation, clean-up, and stock work in the Meat department while providing excellent customer service. The role requires demonstrating the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety. The candidate must be willing to work weekends and holidays and possess effective written and oral communication skills. Responsibilities include reading shelf tags, signs, and product labels, working with various cleaning solutions, safely using sharp tools, and operating certain equipment. The candidate should be able to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment and handle stressful situations calmly while making a positive impression on associates and customers.

  • Perform tasks such as cutting, grinding, slicing, preparing, processing, trimming, tenderizing, sealing, packaging, wrapping, bagging, pricing, prefabricating, dating, labeling, scaling, merchandising, selling, and serving customers.
  • Keep department temperature logs accurately updated and maintained.
  • Stock and display meat items safely and in accordance with company standards.
  • Check product quality; ensure it is rotated properly and fresh.
  • Keep sales areas, backrooms, and coolers clean and well organized.
  • Keep carts, tools, and supplies in their designated areas and well organized.
  • Keep floors clean, safe, and free from clutter.
  • Provide good customer and associate relations.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and fellow associates.
  • Unload trucks, sort orders, and place in proper cooler location.
  • Wash and sanitize equipment in accordance with company and health department policies and procedures.
  • Make a friendly impression on customers.
  • Wait on customers and counter promptly and cheerfully; greet customers and provide them with good quality foods.
  • Increase store sales and profits in conjunction with retail operations and marketing programs.
  • Be prompt, tactful, calm, courteous, and professional in all interactions.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures, particularly in maintaining a work environment free of unlawful harassment or discrimination.
  • Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational, and cooperative manner.
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues.
  • Provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and/or older adults.
  • Willingness to work weekends and holidays.
