About The Position

As a Meat Manager Assistant, you will assist the Meat Manager in overseeing all aspects of our meat department, including ordering, inventory management, and customer service. Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of meat cutting techniques, including portioning, trimming, and slicing.

  • Previous experience in a retail or grocery store environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Meat Manager in managing all aspects of the meat department, including ordering, receiving, pricing, and merchandising of products.
  • Support the Meat Manager in supervising meat department staff, including scheduling, training, and performance management.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and sanitation standards, including proper handling and storage of meats.
  • Assist with monitoring inventory levels and ordering and restocking to meet customer demand.
  • Assist with preparing and cutting meats according to customer specifications, ensuring quality and freshness.
  • Provide assistance and guidance to customers in selecting meats and answering questions about cuts, preparation methods, and cooking tips.
  • Assist with conducting regular inspections of the meat department to ensure cleanliness, organization, and compliance with company policies.
  • Collaborate with store management and other department managers to achieve department goals and objectives.
  • Marking down products in association of special deals and promotions.
