About The Position

The Meat Cutter position at Rouses involves providing exceptional customer service while preparing and cutting meat products to meet company standards. Requirements

• High School diploma or GED.
• Ability to acquire a Food Handler Card (Alabama stores) within 90 days of hire.
• 6 months to 1 year of journeyman meat cutting experience.
• Able to pass a criminal background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Greeting each customer with a warm welcome and engaging in conversations.
• Cutting and grinding meat according to Rouse's specifications and accommodating special requests.
• Managing the meat production line in collaboration with department leaders and meat clerks.
• Wrapping meat using automatic and manual machines as per specifications.
• Setting meat cases according to planograms and using signage and pricing labels as directed.
• Stocking cases and displays to maintain a fresh and full appearance.
• Rotating and culling items on the sales floor and in the cooler and freezer by date.
• Cooking seafood items for customers, if applicable.
• Completing price changes, including re-wrapping, relabeling, and sign changes.
• Understanding the store layout to assist customers in locating products.
• Completing daily cleaning and sanitation procedures.
• Assisting with product ordering and receiving for the department.
• Maintaining a professional personal brand representation in the proper uniform.
• Reporting to work on time and as scheduled.
