About The Position

Under general supervision and following the appropriate GMP’s the employee performs a full range of meat cuts assignments. Provide support to the Raw Department including but not limited to staging, organizing and cutting raw meat products.

Requirements

  • GMP and Food Safety knowledge
  • Intermediate Meat Cutter Knife Skills as defined by (Industry standard) Meat Cutting Precision
  • Math Skills (Addition/ Subtraction/ Division/ Percentages/ Ratios/ Fraction)
  • Intermediate to advanced skill applications to different meat cutting methods
  • Team Player
  • High School/ G.E.D
  • Minimum 2-4 years’ experience meat cutting

Nice To Haves

  • California Food Handlers Certifications (ANSI-approved provider, such as Premier Food Safety)- Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Follow all safety procedures
  • Adherence to food quality standard including verifying and report code dates, color, and temperature
  • Verify that equipment is in good working condition per standard operating procedures
  • Moving meat products
  • Assist Meat Butcher III cutting more complex meat products (Picadillo, Trimming, precise cutting)
  • Machine Operator (Band Saw, Dicers, Slicers & Tumblers)
  • Provides training to Meat Cutter I
  • Prepares various meats, such as beef, pork and poultry
  • Effectively operate plant equipment (Machines) to safety standards
  • Cuts 17k - 30K pounds of meat products per day
