The Meat Clerk position is responsible for providing prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service in the Meat and/or Seafood Department. This includes wrapping, trimming, stocking cases, and receiving merchandise.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent experience.
• Food safety training.
• Six months or less of similar or related work experience.
• Ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or verbal instructions.
• Ability to perform simple addition and subtraction.

Responsibilities

• Provides prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern, and patience in all customer interactions.
• Greets customers in a friendly manner and makes an effort to learn customers' names.
• Assists customers by escorting them to products, securing out-of-reach items, and loading/unloading heavy items.
• Answers the telephone promptly and provides friendly service to customers who call.
• Works with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Wraps, weighs, and labels products.
• Reviews the status and appearance of food for freshness and stocks cases or rotates products.
• Prepares and organizes seafood items for display.
• Maintains cleanliness and sanitation procedures in the work area.
• Reports out-of-stock products to appropriate personnel.
• Trays, slices, tenderizes, and grinds products.
• Removes trash in a timely manner.
• Adheres to company policies and individual store guidelines.
• Reports to work when scheduled and on time.

• Competitive hourly wage ranging from $13.50 to $16.80 depending on experience.
