The Service Meat Clerk is responsible for wrapping, trimming, stocking cases, and receiving merchandise in the Meat and/or Seafood Department. This position requires a strong focus on customer satisfaction and teamwork, ensuring that every customer interaction is positive and engaging. The Service Meat Clerk will greet customers with a smile, assist them in locating products, and provide support with heavy items. This role also involves answering phone calls promptly and taking customer orders, showcasing a commitment to excellent service. The clerk will work closely with co-workers to maintain a pleasant work environment and ensure customer satisfaction. Responsibilities include wrapping, weighing, and labeling products, as well as reviewing food for freshness and stocking cases accordingly. The clerk will also prepare seafood items for display and maintain cleanliness in the work area, adhering to proper sanitation procedures. In addition to primary duties, the Service Meat Clerk may prepare signs for the department, order replenishment merchandise, and assist in other areas of the store as needed. This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent experience, along with food safety training and some related work experience. The physical demands of the job include lifting and moving heavy objects, as well as performing various physical activities in a fast-paced environment. The Service Meat Clerk plays a vital role in enhancing the shopping experience for customers at Hy-Vee, ensuring that they feel valued and supported during their visit.
