As a Meat Clerk, you will be at the center of helping guests find high-quality cuts for various meals, from weekend grill-outs to weeknight dinners. This role involves answering questions, recommending cuts, and ensuring the meat cases are consistently full, fresh, and ready for guests. You will provide top-notch service at the meat and seafood counter, restock and rotate products on the sales floor, and help keep the department running smoothly. You will play a key role in fulfilling special orders and maintaining food safety standards, contributing to a department that guests trust and return to again and again.

Requirements

  • Ability to effectively engage with guests, leaders, and retail sales associates.
  • Utilize strong written and verbal skills to work with a crew in a fast-paced environment.
  • A willingness to learn food safety standards, proper equipment usage (like slicers), and inventory practices.
  • Ability to Multitask and stay customer service focused in a busy retail grocery environment.
  • An understanding of safety and food safety practices and a commitment to following them.
  • Proper training and knowledge of equipment and procedures, including: slicers, proper lifting techniques, trash compactor, baler, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional guest service at the meat counter and on the sales floor, including fulfilling special orders and answering product questions.
  • Maintain fresh, well-stocked displays by inspecting, rotating, and replenishing meat products and supplies.
  • Ensure regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule, and provide adequate notice for occasional absences.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
