About The Position

The Meat Clerk is responsible for providing prompt, courteous, and efficient customer service, maintaining the meat department's presentation, and assisting with inventory and stocking. Essential Functions of the Position: Greet and assist customers in selecting meat products. Prepare ground meat using a meat grinder. Package and label meat products. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the meat department. Stock and rotate products to ensure freshness. Assist with inventory counts and ordering supplies. Perform other duties as assigned. Knowledge: Basic understanding of meat products and cuts. Familiarity with retail stocking procedures and inventory management. Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to food handling. Skills: Excellent customer service. Basic math skills for weighing and pricing. Strong organizational and time management skills. Effective verbal communication skills for interacting with customers and team members. Abilities: Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in stocking and labeling. Capability to adjust to changing situations, handle multiple demands, and work with diverse personalities. Aptitude for making informed decisions quickly, often in high-pressure situations. A genuine desire to meet and exceed customer expectations, creating a positive shopping experience. Ability to perform physical tasks, including stocking, lifting boxes, and standing for extended periods.
