About The Position

The Meat Clerk / Wrapper supports the meat department by packaging, labeling, stocking, and displaying meat products. This role ensures freshness, cleanliness, and proper rotation of products while providing excellent customer service.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Prior retail, grocery, or food service experience is helpful but not required.
  • Ability to work in cold environments and handle raw meat.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
  • Basic math and reading skills.
  • Able to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for long periods.
  • Reliable, with a strong work ethic and good communication skills.
  • Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Weigh, wrap, and label meat products for self-service and full-service displays.
  • Stock and rotate meat cases and prepackaged product to ensure proper product freshness and presentation.
  • Monitor product dates and remove any expired or outdated items.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of wrapping station, tools, and display areas.
  • Assist with unloading and organizing meat deliveries.
  • Help customers locate products and answer basic questions.
  • Ensure proper labeling of all items, including product name, weight, price, and use-by date.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and store procedures.
  • Work closely with meat cutters to support production and sales.
