About The Position

Joseph’s Founder is a third-generation butcher, so you can imagine our Meat Department is a point of emphasis in our stores. Our Meat Butcher/Meat Cutter is a key player in our success as they serve our customers with the biggest smiles and the most helpful attitudes imaginable. From handmade sausages and the finest cuts of beef, to our Butchers and Meat Associates assisting customers with selecting the perfect meat item, Joseph’s Meat departments are a cut above the rest.

Requirements

At least 18 years of age
Minimum 1–2 years of butcher/meat cutting experience in a retail or commercial setting required
Ability to deliver friendly, respectful, timely customer service
Ability to read, write, and do simple math problems
Ability to interpret and follow instructions
Ability to work well with others
Food preparation experience
A passion for serving people

Responsibilities

Provide customer service up to the Joseph’s standard
Maintain Joseph’s standards for product freshness and sanitation
Cut, bone, or grind pieces of meat
Weigh, wrap, and display cuts of meat
Cut or prepare meats to specification or customer’s orders
Store meats in refrigerators or freezers at the required temperature
Clean equipment and work areas to maintain health and sanitation standards
Sell products by providing customers with product information, answering questions and making suggestions
Replenish, maintain, and rotate products and display cases
Take and fulfill special orders for customers
Package and label products for self-service, and ensures product signage is accurate
Operate knives, band saw, grinder, scale, wrapping machine and other Meat equipment
Assist with other tasks as assigned
