The Meat Clerk position involves providing prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service, wrapping, trimming, stocking cases, and receiving merchandise in the Meat and/or Seafood Department.

Requirements

• High School or equivalent experience.
• Food safety training.
• Six months or less of similar or related work experience.
• Ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or verbal instructions.
• Ability to perform simple addition and subtraction.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions.

Responsibilities

• Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions.
• Smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner.
• Makes an effort to learn customers' names and address them by name.
• Assists customers by escorting them to products, securing out-of-reach products, loading/unloading heavy items, and passing along customer suggestions.
• Answers the telephone promptly and provides friendly service.
• Works with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Wraps, weighs, and labels product.
• Reviews the status and appearance of food for freshness and stocks cases or rotates product.
• Prepares and organizes seafood items for display.
• Practices proper sanitation procedures and ensures a clean work area.
• Replenishes and organizes coolers.
• Reports out-of-stock products to appropriate personnel.
• Trays, slices, tenderizes, and grinds product.
• Removes trash in a timely manner.
• Maintains adherence to department and company guidelines related to personal hygiene and dress.
• Reports to work when scheduled and on time.
