POSTION SUMMARY: This position reports to the Measurement Project Manager providing support for measurement projects by coordinating the various steps necessary to complete new gas, natural gas liquids, crude metering & analyzer stations at MPLX G&P, Interconnects, Gathering Systems & Compressor Stations. This position belongs to a family of jobs with increasing responsibility, competency, and skill level.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from accredited college or university is required.
  • 4-years of experience in the gas processing and gas gathering disciplines.
  • Requires knowledge of the latest Industry Standards (AGA, API, GPA, ASME, NEC) and Industry best practices.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License and good driving record.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively working with all levels of personnel from field to management.
  • Proficient in the following: Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, Microsoft Project, & Visio.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of process plant, pipeline operations and measurement/analytical equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Work through engineering, construction, and operations to support capital projects by taking measurement project assignments from conception to completion.
  • Coordinate team participation through all phases of the project, communicating regularly with the project team members and project stake holders.
  • Participate in area budget meetings, project planning & engineering meetings to determine priority status of plant, interconnect, pipeline, compressor station & large volume metering & analyzer station projects
  • Review Contracts to determine relative project scope regarding MPLX measurement needs to meet contract obligations & customer’s requirements
  • Determine final scope work by meeting with next tier of critical SME stakeholders (Project Engineering, Accounting, Measurement SME’s, Area Measurement Supervisors, key Operations personnel)
  • Consult with Site Project Manager to review P&IDs, PFDs, 3D models, & HYSIS/Promax models – provide markups as needed to ensure metering & sampling points are properly specified to provide accurate gas & liquid measurement
  • Effectively relate the project scope, the required tasks and cooperation needed from company & contract employees and define roles & responsibilities in order to complete each project successfully and on time.
  • Develop Gantt Charts or project planning sheets for all major projects to manage and track construction progress, fabrication stages, hold-points, inspection dates & equipment deliveries
  • Create RFQ Bid Packages based on specified equipment needs that comply with company design standards – select bidders from vetted pool of approved fabricators to receive Bid Pkgs – review bids, then notify most suitable bidder of job award
  • Work with construction to convey MPLX expectations of their work relating to measurement equipment installs, their commitment to meet our timeline deliverables and to stay on schedule to avoid delays
  • Attend fabricator’s facilities as needed for QA/QC inspection (or request MPLX SME attend) to inspect equipment during hold points to ensure applicable API, AGA, GPA, ASME, NFPA & NEC and MPLX design standards are met to pass stated QC expectations & tolerances
  • Perform regular project site walk-throughs to evaluate on schedule status of required tasks by contractors – create punch lists of unfinished or incorrect work needing attention, issue list to contractors and request needed date of completion return as needed & repeat process relaying status to PM
  • Track measurement and analytical scope budget & project progress and provide frequent updates to the Measurement Services & Area Measurement Team stakeholders
  • Provide final coordination of internal & external startup & commissioning personnel for new metering & analytical stations. operation as well as Communicate ing with all relevant contractors, corporate back office analysts & operations personnel about status of startup
  • Attend startup of site providing technical & operational support as needed – verifying proper operation of equipment as designed – confirming accurate flow data is received into DCS & Measurement Servers
  • Provide training for Measurement Services personnel in project management, how to create Meter Schematics, Project Scope Packages, Reviewing / Revising PID’s / PFD’s / Plot Plans as well as training to develop approved equipment lists to meet the Project Scope specifications
  • Manage folders, subfolders, & documents on SharePoint related to updates or changes to equipment actually procured as well as manage updates to PFDs & Metering Schematics on Sharepoint due to process changes or facility expansion
  • Work with Measurement Services SMEs to keep internal measurement standards updated, evaluate service providers, and help scope testing for emerging technologies
