About The Position

The purpose of this position is to provide oversight of the designated Meals on Wheels congregate site. This includes preparing the site for clients, welcoming clients, passing out meals, encouraging socialization amongst clients, taking reservations, and cleaning up after the meal. This position is located in Meriden, KS Part-Time Monday-Friday, 9am-12:30pm

Requirements

• Minimum education of high school graduation or equivalent GED.
• Capacity to communicate with people representing vast differences of professional, cultural, social and economic backgrounds and ages.
• Ability to keep records and prepare reports with some knowledge of accounting.
• Lifting of bulk food trays is required.
• Must have a current Kansas or Missouri driver’s license and a good driving record.
• Must meet Midland Care driving standards and have current auto insurance and continue to meet insurability requirements throughout employment.
• Must be patient and have a sincere desire to work with senior citizens.
• Must demonstrate respect for persons of all economic backgrounds, social status, race, religion, sexual orientation, and nationality.

Responsibilities

• Assures excellent customer service is provided.
• Responsible for day-to-day congregate site operations. This includes setting up meal service area with plastic ware, drinks if applicable and donation box.
• Ensures that required supplies have been ordered timely and appropriately accounted for.
• Oversees the taking of reservations and calling in of orders.
• Ensures that all participants have an up-to-date Uniform Program Registration (UPR) form on file.
• Assures that all meal routes are delivered by volunteers/staff.
