Requirements

  • Must be eligible to work in the US without visa sponsorship.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending, lifting up to 50lbs, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to understand and communicate in English (verbal/written).
  • Must be able to work in various weather, industrial and agricultural settings.
  • Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above).
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays with advance notice.
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have very strong mathematical, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Must be able to learn computer software programs such as Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Maximo.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience troubleshooting various mechanical components and systems.
  • Experience in mechanical maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Operate all equipment associated with the boiler and elevator processes, including drags, conveyors, bean dryers, truck dump and rail dump.
  • Operate computerized and control systems in conjunction with departmental operations.
  • Process samples utilizing lab equipment to obtain and record values on a computer spreadsheet and collect samples for several process areas.
  • Ensure that the equipment is fully operational and in good repair.
  • Unload soybeans from rail cars.
  • Ensure accurate information of scale weights and transactions are recorded daily.
  • Monitor inventory of tanks by reading website on computer and/or ascending ladder to top of storage tanks to take physical tank measurements and determine when to switch tanks for operations.
  • Understand and adhere to the requirements of grain quality and storage.
  • Hand write tickets or use Stand Alone Scale Interface (SASI) if computer network goes down.
  • Inspect buildings, grounds and equipment utilized by facility; determine immediate and long-range needs for maintenance and repair work.
  • Enter work orders utilizing maintenance computer program.
  • Assist truck drivers with loading or unloading of chemicals.
  • Troubleshoot minor problems.
  • Perform light maintenance.
