About The Position

The Meadows Center for Preventing Educational Risk at the University of Texas at Austin is seeking a Research Associate Professor or Research Professor focused on literacy and emergent bilingual students. This non-tenure track position involves conducting research on interventions and prevention-oriented approaches within the K-12 school system, with a strong emphasis on securing external funding and collaborating with educators and stakeholders to improve literacy outcomes.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in special education, school psychology, psychology, or a closely related field.
  • Record of scholarly leadership in literacy, special education, and/or literacy instruction for emergent bilingual students.
  • Demonstrated record of securing extramural research funding.
  • Experience conducting randomized controlled trials and/or quasi-experimental studies in K-12 settings.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a strong record of securing external grants to support a programmatic area of research.
  • Work with school leaders and teachers in K-12 schools to carry out intervention research focused on literacy outcomes.
  • Disseminate research findings to the research community in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals and at national/international meetings.
  • Share research findings with school system stakeholders through practitioner journals and conferences.
  • Engage in mentorship, supervision of students, or teaching at some level.
