About The Position

The Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) Coordinator is responsible for facilitating collaborative relationships with partner and community organizations and for leading efforts to ensure coordinated response to child abuse investigation in the Toombs Judicial Circuit. The MDT Coordinator will provide coordination of MDT Case Review, assist in identification of training needs for team members, and track cases through closure. The MDT Coordinator also coordinates advocacy services to clients from investigation to prosecution to reduce trauma to children and their families.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree required in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Education, or closely related field.
  • Georgia licensure (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, etc.) preferred; license-eligible candidates must obtain licensure within agreed timeframe.
  • Prior training and/or experience in forensic interviewing preferred (or willingness to complete required training).
  • Experience working in the field of child abuse, trauma, or child welfare strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary professionals.
  • Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills.
  • Computer literacy required for case tracking, statistical reporting, and documentation.
  • Ability to maintain professional neutrality in forensic settings and therapeutic boundaries in clinical settings.

Responsibilities

  • Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) Coordination
  • Coordinate all aspects of Multidisciplinary Case Review Team (MCRT) meetings, including:
  • Preparing and distributing agendas
  • Facilitating case staffing when MDT Chair is unavailable
  • Preparing and distributing meeting minutes
  • Documenting updates in the Collaborate case tracking system
  • Receive and document case updates from team members unable to attend meetings.
  • Track cases through investigation and prosecution to closure.
  • Schedule and coordinate MDT trainings.
  • Assist with maintaining and updating MDT protocols to ensure compliance with state and national CAC standards.
  • Train caseworkers, law enforcement, and other partners on MDT and CAC policies and procedures.
  • Ensure forensic interviewing and case review standards are upheld.
  • Prepare reports as required for funding, including monthly board reports on MCRT meetings.
  • Therapeutic Duties
  • Conduct screening assessments with children who have experienced abuse and their non-offending caregivers.
  • Provide crisis counseling and ongoing individual therapy to CAC clients.
  • Deliver evidence-based trauma treatment modalities as appropriate.
  • Facilitate non-offending caregiver support groups as assigned.
  • Facilitate therapy groups for children who have experienced abuse.
  • Maintain clear clinical boundaries between therapy and forensic functions.
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the case tracking system.
  • Maintain up-to-date referral resources and advocate for additional services as needed.
  • Forensic Interviewing Duties (As Assigned)
  • Conduct developmentally appropriate, legally sound forensic interviews of children alleging sexual abuse, severe physical abuse, neglect, trafficking, or exposure to violence.
  • Ensure all required investigative partners (law enforcement and/or DFCS) are coordinated and present for scheduled interviews.
  • Coordinate digital video recording and written documentation of interviews.
  • Maintain equipment, recorded interviews, and case files according to CAC standards.
  • Enter accurate demographic, statistical, and case data into the Collaborate system.
  • Participate in MDT Case Review meetings to staff forensic cases.
  • Appear in court as a fact or expert witness when subpoenaed.
  • Administrative
  • Participate in regular supervisory sessions with the Thomson CAC Director
  • Train caseworkers and law enforcement personnel on Multidisciplinary Team and Child Advocacy Center policies and procedures
  • Assist Thomson CAC Director in ensuring Forensic Interviewing and Case Review standards are met
  • Prepare reports for Thomson CAC Director as necessary for funding, including monthly board reports on services provided
  • Supervise and train bachelors level and masters level interns as well as volunteers
  • Professional Responsibilities
  • Maintain license/certification at the level for professional practice, as appropriate.
  • Attend required workshops, seminars, continuing education, etc. for professional development.
  • Coordinate, participate in and conduct child abuse seminars and/or workshops to educate the public and professionals in the community.
