About The Position

MaineGeneral is seeking an experienced Minimum Data Set (MDS) Registered Nurse to join our healthcare team at Glenridge. The MDS RN plays a crucial role in assessing and documenting the physical and mental health of our residents. This role requires you to work with the interdisciplinary team to develop individualized care plans, ensure regulatory compliance, and contribute to the overall quality improvement of our resident care services.

Requirements

  • Possess a current State of Maine RN license or the ability to obtain one promptly.
  • MDS experience is strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of federal and state regulations related to long-term care facilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team.
  • Must be detail-oriented with organizational skills.
  • Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of resident care.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to assist with education, problem identification and resolution, and data review.
  • Provides direction and serves as a resource to staff regarding departmental/area policies, procedures, and services.
  • Ensures accuracy of medical records and coding procedures to ensure the facility receives proper reimbursement.
  • Prepares and electronically transmits reports to the national Medicare and Medicaid database.
  • Monitors and evaluates resident care to ensure programs are scheduled appropriately and completed for any change in resident condition.
  • Active participant in utilization and skilled stay review of facility admissions.
  • Coordinates clinical assessment according to regulations related to skilled and long-term care nursing facilities.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of residents' health using the Minimum Data Set (MDS) tool.
  • Document assessment findings and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and update individualized care plans.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Stay updated on regulations and provide staff training.
  • Coordination of the assessment process and care of residents.
