About The Position

The Brain and Body Program at UNC Health is seeking a Per Diem Neurologist to join an interdisciplinary care team that provides comprehensive health assessments to athletes recently retired from professional football. This role supports the current program Neurologist and involves working collaboratively with various specialists to develop care plans for patients. The position is part-time, with specific hours on Thursday afternoons, and may require flexibility in scheduling.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited school of medicine (MD/DO).
• Board Eligible/Board Certified in Neurology (BE/BC).
• North Carolina State License and DEA License preferred.
• BLS/ACLS certification preferred.
• Previous experience in a similar role is required.

Nice To Haves

• FCVS profile preferred for those without NC license but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide neurological assessments and care for retired professional football players.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including Family Medicine, Sports Medicine, Psychiatry, Psychology, and other specialists.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
• Support the current program Neurologist during their absence.
• Ensure high-quality patient care and follow-up.
