About The Position

The Intune Desktop Engineer position is a contract role based in Needham, MA, with a duration of 12 months. The role requires a strong background in Intune and Microsoft Configuration Manager (MCM), as well as experience in preparing Operating Systems for corporate use. The engineer will work onsite 3 to 4 days a week and will be responsible for implementing modern management practices within the organization.

Requirements

  • 2-5 Years of experience in Desktop Engineering or similar discipline
  • Experience with Intune and Microsoft Configuration Manager (MCM)
  • Understanding of infrastructure security best-practices such as zero-trust, least-access, MFA, etc.
  • Experience in implementing and managing enterprise configuration management tools such as Microsoft Configuration Manager, Intune, and Ivanti
  • High familiarity with building and customizing Windows and Thin (iGel/Wise) images
  • Understanding of creating and managing reports using technologies such as PowerBI and SQL Server
  • Exposure to Cloud based technologies such as Azure, AVD, and AWS
  • High level of technical expertise with Microsoft products such as Office 365, Teams, and Active Directory
  • Strong understanding of Azure Runbooks and Microsoft Graph API for automation
  • Understanding of ITIL best practices and processes and Project Management Methodology (PMM) fundamentals
  • Demonstrated skill in solving problems with coding languages such as Powershell, VBscript, or Python
  • Knowledge of post-implementation environments and ability to follow through on Day 2 to ensure infrastructure stability

Responsibilities

  • Perform Software Packaging tasks in preparation for deployment via Microsoft Configuration Manager and Intune
  • Use and optimize Intune Policies to help bring 'Modern Management' to Wellington
  • Prepare new Microsoft Windows OS versions for use within Intune for Physical and Virtual use
  • Leverage 'Modern Management' to update new software and drivers from Intune
  • Work with Wellington's leadership to define and enforce the Desktop Architectural Standards and identify areas for improvement
  • Assist in the overall design, installation, and integration of IT Desktop solutions throughout the enterprise
  • Track technology and market trends to acquire knowledge on new and existing technologies that could best serve Wellington's Desktop architecture needs
  • Analyze business cases for upgrading existing infrastructure technologies or implementing a new infrastructure solution
  • Train other IT professionals (tier 1 and tier 2 support) on the developed solutions and expected impact
  • Mentor new employees on the team's policy and procedures
