About The Position

TerraPower is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support the Molten Chloride Fast Reactor (MCFR) program and the Molten Chloride Reactor Experiment (MCRE). This position reports to the MCFR System Design Manager. The role centers on the MCRE project, beginning with supporting the MCRE Mockup integration/commissioning activities and evolving toward supporting completion of detailed design for the MCRE Electrical system. You'll collaborate with electrical/I&C, mechanical, and plant design teams in a high-performing, multi-disciplinary environment to deliver electrical design deliverables and support field commissioning activities. This position requires onsite work (up to 5 days a week) at the TerraPower Bellevue, WA office to interface with the rest of the Engineering Design Team. As needed, onsite work at the TerraPower Everett, WA laboratory may be required. TerraPower's Molten Chloride Fast Reactor (MCFR) program is commercializing the technology to operate a fast spectrum, chloride salt cooled molten salt reactor. TerraPower's work focuses on a fast neutron spectrum to minimize the reactivity impact of fission products and avoid the need for online reprocessing that is required in thermal spectrum molten salt reactor concepts.

Requirements

  • B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent and 6 years (Level 10) or 10 years (Level 11) of relevant experience. Experience level may be partially substituted for advanced degree depending on position relevance.
