About The Position

The Machining Team Coordinator is responsible for coordinating operator production activities on the line-side of one or more machining processes. This role involves providing technical and troubleshooting support to ensure that daily production targets are met while adhering to quality specifications. The coordinator will work closely with operators to guide them in their tasks and ensure that production goals align with customer requirements.

Requirements

  • Experience in machining processes and production coordination.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for machines and quality discrepancies.
  • Ability to read and interpret CMM data and blueprints.
  • Familiarity with CNC programming and adjustments.
  • Experience in managing team dynamics and associate issues.
  • Knowledge of performance metrics and continuous improvement methodologies.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with TWI (Training Within Industry) methodologies.
  • Familiarity with kaizen and PDCA Cycle for process improvement.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or machining environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance and information to operators to ensure daily production targets are met.
  • Complete tool changes and maintain change-point records.
  • Troubleshoot machines, leak tests, assembly equipment, and quality discrepancies.
  • Manage machining and quality concerns by implementing corrective actions.
  • Read and comprehend CMM data, by-part blueprints, and CMM pictograph adjustment sheets.
  • Make basic CNC program adjustments according to CMM data and pictograph adjustment sheets.
  • Manage associate issues and utilize TWI (Job Relation) training effectively.
  • Understand and implement Ahresty Key Performance Indexes and KPI targets.
  • Implement kaizen activities using the PDCA Cycle to improve processes.
  • Ensure associates fill out daily production reports and counter confirmation sheets.
  • Update and sign off assigned Production Boards.
  • Check and sign off Q-Time check sheets and take corrective action when necessary.
  • Monitor hour-by-hour results to ensure shift production targets are met.
  • Lead the segregation of nonconforming products.
  • Complete work observations according to standards.
  • Guide skill level development of associates line-side.
  • Aid in manpower allocation.
  • Ensure Standard Operational Procedures are consistently applied, trained, and followed.
  • Ensure associates follow Rules of Production regarding start-up, clean-up, breaks, and lunch periods.
