About The Position

The memory Care Life Enrichment Leader assists the Memory Care Life Enrichment Coordinator in planning, organizing, developing, coordinating, and implementing therapeutic activity programs on a daily basis to meet the individual memory care resident’s needs and interests. These are designed and implemented within accordance to current federal, state, local and facility standards. Requirements

  • Minimum of an Associated Degree
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working with seniors
  • Must be able to work independently, communicating summaries of tasks and decisions.
  • Must be able to deal tactfully and pleasantly with staff, residents, family members, visitors, entertainers and travel agents.
  • Must have effective interpersonal communication skills and have the ability to speak effectively before large groups.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Must be able to project professionalism, cheerfulness and enthusiasm at all times.
  • Part time (32hrs) work week must be willing to flex hours as able when necessary.
  • Be able to apply common sense and understand when dealing with problems presenting several variables and be able to apply appropriate alternatives utilizing supervisor appropriately.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience desired in activities and wellness programs with seniors.
  • CDL desired.

Responsibilities

  • Dependable, punctual attendance, accurately utilize time and attendance system.
  • Assist and/or lead assigned group or 1:1 activity programs.
  • Assist Residents to and from activity programs.
  • Report any changes in Resident behavior, safety hazards, or procedural difficulties, to the Activity Director as they occur.
  • Distribute monthly activity calendars to Residents.
  • Post calendars on designated display boards.
  • Assist with evaluation of each Resident according to their backgrounds, activity interests, abilities, physical limitations, and needs for meaningful activity programs.
  • Daily maintain activity attendance on each Resident.
  • Develop, display, and maintain thematic/holiday decorations throughout the facility.
  • Assist with maintaining current organizational systems or special needs lists (i.e. religious preference, birthday date lists)
  • Attend and participate at Staff meetings, care plan meetings, in-service training programs, and other meetings as assigned.
  • Assist in maintaining equipment, pets, and supplies in a neat and safe manner.
  • Maintain confidentiality of resident information.
  • Helps maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the Activity Room, closets, storage areas and all other areas where activities take place.
  • Ability to promote a positive working environment based on the DRV mission statement and DRV’s commitment to a safe working environment.
  • Performs other duties as directed by the Director of Life Enrichment.
  • Ability to promote good relations between the life enrichment department and other departments within the facility, as well as residents, visitors and volunteers.
