About The Position
Under limited supervision of the Sergeant and Security Manager, using a customer service orientation, provides security, safety, and acts in an assistant leadership capacity to security personnel for the safety and security of patients, visitors and staff on the University of Maryland Medical System campus. May provide shuttle/escort service to visitors and staff to locations within the Medical System campus. Provides leadership and guidance to security officers when the Sergeant is scheduled off or when the Sergeant is working but unable to provide leadership and direction to security officers due to assignments or other calls for service.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.
- Four years of experience in security or law enforcement is required.
- Education may be substituted for some experience.
- Completion of a CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) course on Non-Violent Crisis Intervention is required within one year of hire or placement into the position.
Nice To Haves
- Associate’s Degree or equivalent in Social Sciences or related field preferred.
- Experience in a hospital facility is preferred.
- Previous experience in a lead or supervisory role is preferred, but not required.
