Actual job responsibilities, levels, and locations will vary based on actual hiring job postings. We are hiring levels 2-5. If you are interested in joining LM and working as a Systems Engineer, please apply to this requisition. What does this role look like? Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a Model-Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) to support complex space, ground, and mission systems throughout the full systems engineering lifecycle. In this role, you will develop, maintain, and analyze system models using industry MBSE tools such as Cameo, ensuring stakeholder alignment, traceability, and technical rigor. You will collaborate closely with multi-disciplinary teams to translate mission needs into system architectures, interface definitions, and model-derived technical products.

  • Develop and maintain model-based system architectures using MBSE tools (e.g., Cameo, MagicDraw, Rhapsody).
  • Create and manage SysML artifacts including block, activity, sequence, and state diagrams.
  • Use system models to support trade studies, requirement validation, interface definition, and behavior analysis.
  • Ensure alignment between system models, requirements repositories, and program documentation.
  • Support adoption of digital engineering practices across the program.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Experience using Cameo Systems Modeler, MagicDraw, Rhapsody, or equivalent MBSE toolsets.
  • Understanding of the full systems engineering lifecycle, including concept development, architecture, requirements, design, integration, and verification.
  • Experience developing or managing SysML models (block diagrams, activity diagrams, sequence diagrams, state machines, etc.).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance, thus US Citizenship is required.
  • Experience defining and managing model-based architectures, behaviors, and interfaces.
  • Knowledge of DoDAF, UAF, or similar architecture frameworks.
  • Experience integrating MBSE products with requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS).
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex technical data to diverse audiences.
  • Experience in space systems, ground systems, mission processing, or command and control architectures.
