Are you ready to apply your early-career engineering experience to a mission-critical national defense program? Want to work with some of the most advanced tools in the industry to help protect the country from global threats? Peraton is seeking a Junior Model-Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) with 2+ years of experience to support a newly awarded, high-visibility initiative. This program will establish a unified MBSE architecture across U.S. Intelligence Centers to accelerate weapons system analysis and enhance Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) capabilities. Join a cross-agency national team supporting NASIC (Dayton, OH), ONI (Suitland, MD), MSIC (Redstone Arsenal, AL), and NGIC (Charlottesville, VA).

  • Develop and maintain model-based system architectures using SysML and DoDAF
  • Assist in modeling foreign missile systems and Command & Control (C2) structures in support of national defense analysis
  • Collaborate with senior engineers and government stakeholders to deliver high-quality modeling products
  • Participate in on-site and remote support to multiple IC organizations
  • Contribute to technical documentation, data traceability, and systems integration
  • Grow your skills in MBSE tools and methodologies through hands-on mission work
  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with 2+ years of relevant experience; OR 0+ years of relevant experience with a Master's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; an additional 4 years can be substituted in lieu of degree
  • TS/SCI clearance or TS with the ability to obtain SCI and pass a polygraph
  • Foundational understanding of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and modeling frameworks
  • Familiarity with ITASE (Integrated Threat Analysis and Simulation Environment)
  • Exposure to SysML and/or DoDAF-compliant modeling practices
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to support efforts across multiple government sites and collaborate with diverse technical teams
  • Experience using tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler, Teamwork Cloud, Simulink, MATLAB, STK, Jira, Confluence
  • Experience supporting DoD or IC customers
  • Interest in missile systems, C2 architecture, or defense technology
