About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative MBSE Engineer to join our team in the greater DMV area, supporting the Army National Guard.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 12 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 10 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 7 years with Ph.D.
  • Clearance: Active TS/SCI clearance.
  • Candidate must meet ONE of the following:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or Software Engineering; OR
  • Relevant DoD/military training (example: Research & Development Specialist (Intermediate) Playlist); OR
  • Relevant professional certification or equivalent experience (example: Security+).
  • Minimum 7 years systems engineering, MBSE, or enterprise architecture experience with at least 5+ years authoring/overseeing SysML/DoDAF artifacts in DoD or large‑scale programs.
  • Deep proficiency with MBSE tools and SysML modeling, model repositories, digital‑thread concepts, and configuration/version control for models.
  • Strong skills in requirements traceability, model validation, architecture adjudication, and producing decision‑grade MBSE artifacts and briefings.
  • Experience integrating MBSE outputs into acquisition, test, RMF/ATO evidence, and lifecycle engineering processes.
  • Excellent stakeholder facilitation, governance board support, and documentation abilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior DoD/ARNG MBSE or enterprise architecture governance experience.
  • Familiarity with toolchains (MagicDraw/Cameo, Sparx, or equivalent), model exchange standards (XMI), and automation of model‑to‑artifact workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Establish MBSE frameworks, modeling conventions, and digital‑thread architectures aligned with DoDAF/Unified Architecture Framework to support enterprise engineering governance.
  • Review, validate, and adjudicate SysML artifacts, architecture views, and system models for accuracy, traceability, and alignment with requirements and solution baselines.
  • Advise leadership on model‑driven analysis, integration risk, architectural coherence, and decision impacts derived from MBSE artifacts.
  • Translate operational concepts and requirements into formal system representations linking requirements → architecture → design → operational artifacts.
  • Oversee model integrity, configuration control, versioning, and traceability across engineering domains to maintain defensible engineering baselines.
  • Drive enterprise adoption of MBSE best practices, tooling, and processes to reduce lifecycle risk and enable data‑driven engineering decisions.
  • Coordinate with systems engineers, architects, program managers, and tool administrators to integrate MBSE outputs into acquisition, test, and sustainment workflows.
  • Produce MBSE governance artifacts, modeling standards, review packages, and executive briefings to support architecture boards and program decisions.
