MBA Fixed Income Investment Analyst Summer Associate (US)
About The Position
Capital Group seeks bright, highly motivated and self-directed individuals for Fixed Income Investment Analyst internship opportunities in Los Angeles. As a summer associate, you will conduct fundamental research on issuers in a segment of the bond market and research related fixed-income securities, with the objective of presenting an investment thesis and recommendation to an audience of portfolio managers and analysts. Fixed-Income Summer Associate Opportunities: Sovereign/Emerging Markets Structured Investments (RMBS, CMBS, ABS) Corporate/Credit Municipal/Tax-Exempt Your analysis will incorporate a blend of macro (political, economic, sector/industry) and micro (issuer-specific financial, legal/structural, security-specific) considerations, which you will synthesize with bond valuations. You will be guided in your work by an investment analyst, although you will be largely self-directed in your approach and conclusions. Throughout the summer, you will learn more about investment management, and have access to the industry's most respected investment professionals. Your internship with Capital will provide you with hands-on experience similar to that of a full-time analyst.
Requirements
- MBA degree candidate with a graduation date of December 2026 or May/June 2027 from an accredited university, or business school
- Demonstrated academic achievement
- Ability to direct independent work effort in a cooperative environment
- Grasp of macro and micro economics and a curiosity about the bond market
- Healthy appetite for research, writing and business travel
- Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal
